The "Office of Process Improvement and Innovation” at UHealth is offering a few internship opportunities to work with their teams over the summer. Our group has on-going projects at the University of Miami Hospital, Bascom Palmer Eye Institute, Sylvester Comprehensive Cancer Center, and with departments that support the health system.
The internship will offer candidates the opportunity to apply their graphic design skills real-world scenarios, specifically in healthcare, and learn first-hand from teams working on process improvement projects. This is the first time the group is engaging graphic design, with the intention of bringing another perspective to the problems we solve, particularly drawing from the concepts of “Human Centered Design”. Internship responsibilities may include conducting “voice of customer” interviews, participating in team process mapping sessions, help facilitate root-cause analysis sessions, and designing materials (printed/digital) to be used by staff and patients alike . This is a great opportunity to learn about the healthcare environment and real world applications of your skills.
If you’re interested please submit your resume to g.rueda@med.miami.edu, and include your availability over the summer. Our team is flexible and we’ll accommodate schedules to make sure you can get the most out of your internship.
