Learning Module 3 escorts the student into electronic document creation using Adobe InDesign. In this final month of the semester, students learn page layout and print design, incorporating text and images they've developed in Adobe Creative Suite into a magazine spread, a poster, and a final self-promotional piece.

TOPICS: Basic mastery of desktop publishing and how Indesign connects to commercial printing processes, page layout, typography, and design.

·       Grasping the vocabulary of desktop publishing

·       A brief history of printing and typography

·       Smart typography

·       Navigation and eye path

·       Indesign features & workspace

·       Working with PDF formats 

·       “Packaging,” font & picture linking/spellcheck

·       Importing images

·       Advanced typesetting concepts/importing text

·       Visual effects

·       Printing mechanics for layout (registration/crop marks, bleeds, etc.)

·       Mockupsdummies//proofs
