Comments on Art109 Work...
"I was very impressed by how sophisticated these images were, thanks for sharing. I passed them along to my teen students to inspire them. I liked the complexity of your compositions, your bold use of hot color ( I can tell you all live in FLA, ha,ha...), the depth of your layers...If I had one piece of constructive criticism/food for thought for you, I might say: The images posted are strong individually and have a definite commercial edge to them. In a real world scenario, a lot of them might have been commissioned by a client who in turn was probably going to print them into magazines, posters, brochures, etc. This means that your images would have been used more like backdrops for text. In that case, you would have had to start your composition with more negative space, margins, soft focus, some visual element in mind that would lend the image to be used better with text incorporated. Don't ever forget your negative space...it is just as important as the positive....you have to let the viewer visually breathe and "fill in the blanks" for herself."

"Your students' work is very impressive! Extremely polished and
professionally done. I wish them all well in finding good jobs. It'll be
extra challenging with this economy, but they're starting with great talent,
so they should rise to the top."
Robert Young, Creative Director, Ohio
