For this project you will create 6 images for evaluation. You must watch the assigned videos to be able to complete this practice exercise.
When completed with tutorials, take a large and resolute image (1200 x 1600 pixels in 72 ppi AT THE VERY LEAST) and choose an image containing distinctive Foreground, Midground, and Background (see the PPT "Basic Photo Composition" for more information on these concepts).
Part 1. Using Adobe Bridge, open the photo in “camera raw” by selecting the image and using the shortcut Command Key-R. Crop (and enhance) your photo several different ways to create at least 3 “new” images that each “tells a different story.” In each instance, after cropping, do appropriate sharpening, contrast, and color changes to improve/change the resulting image as a resolute, clear, top-quality photo. Every time you change the image you must save it with a new name so you are not overriding each edit (also see instructions below for naming asmt. files). Remember, Bridge edits are non-destructive but you must save each version separately or may have to do the edits all over again.

Part 2. Next, open one or more of your new images in Photoshop and now drastically change the color or appearance to create 3 images that are artistic or abstract in nature (versus photo-realist). Use appropriate filters like ACCENTED EDGES or PAINT DABS or change the color balance or to black and white to make the photo "say" something artistically expressive. Think about mood.
Part 3. Resolution requirements. The final product should demonstrate your understanding of effective resolution by avoiding pixelation. Convert and save all 6 photos as tiffs with 240 dpi (resizing/resampling as needed) and email them to me (properly identified in the file names!) ALONG WITH THE ORIGINAL PHOTO at k.hanger@miami.edu--Files ready for evaluation must ALWAYS contain in the file name YOUR complete name, instructor's last name, the assignment name or number, and the semester.

If you ride a bike to class...
Please know that bikes need to be locked up to the bike racks near the building. Facilities has already cut the locks and confiscated several student bikes that were locked up to other areas around the buildings!
