This Thursday, 02/12, award winning artist Felecia Chizuko Carlisle will facilitate an adult studio workshop: “Digital Art: Time and Meaning,” 10:00AM – 1:00PM at the Perez Art Museum. Members $85/Non-members $100.
Carlisle will explore ideas and larger themes connected to appropriation, re-contextualization of images and original photography in this workshop. Participants will engage in dialogue around the meaning of images and how these meanings may change over time depending on varying external and internal factors. Questions will be raised regarding certain memories as cultural constructs and how time can function as a determining force in the negotiation of meaning. "Digital Art: Time and Meaning" connects to PAMM’s Visual Memory gallery part of the larger Global Positioning System exhibition. Participants will create a series of images suitable for web display, electronic projection, print or incorporation into future projects.
