OUR AGENDA:

INTRODUCTIONS: You should have an artistic work or object with which to introduce yourself to the class and talk about your interest in this course.

DISCUSSION & LAB: 

1. I will share with you some concepts regarding digital imaging from the PPT Intro to Digital Imaging 

2. We will talk about image resolution issues and how they pertain to the first practice and all future PS assignments. 

3. I will get you started on the first training videos and you'll be introduced to the Adobe platform (view the PPT -The Adobe Platform)

4. I will provide instructions for the first Practice assignment (P1--click here for detailed guidelines). To complete this assignment you will be given material to read, videos to watch, and advice on searching for high resolution images as well as resizing them and converting file formats. Practice P1 is due Tuesday at the end of class.
  • IMPORTANT! In order to complete the practice exercise you must FIRST review the PPT on composition:  -Basic Photo Composition  
  • then watch the assigned videos in Skill Set 1 ("Photoshop CC for Photographers: Fundamentals with Chris Orwig") at Lynda.com to learn the software requirements. These videos are accessed through UM Library Media Center at http://library.miami.edu/medialab/ Click the training tab on this site for clearer instructions about finding the tutorials.) You will be proceeding today through the initial videos in Skill Set 1 on Adobe Bridge and Camera Raw. This includes--
