Enter the Annual UMiami Student Juried Art Competition

Annual Juried Student Competition Exhibition 2014
Submissions due Friday, March 28, 2014 @ The CAS Gallery - 10am to 7pm
The CAS Gallery is located at 1210 Stanford Drive at the Wesley Foundation Building.

Please keep in mind when filling out the entry form you must print legibly. Completing the form and attaching the information slip to your artwork in advance will help speed up the process.

**We strongly suggest that you protect your artwork. You may use mats, frames, clear protective sleeves and photo corners.

All works not accepted will be exhibited at the CAS Gallery in the 9th Annual Salon des Refuses exhibition!
(The Salon des Refusés is named after the celebrated Salon des Refusés exhibition of 1863, in Paris, in which the Impressionists exhibited their revolutionary new paintings that had been “refused” by the French Academy.)

Classifications:
Awards are given in these categories, so be sure to include this information on your entry form and labels: Ceramics, Sculpture, Glass, Painting, Drawing, Printmaking, Photography/Digital Imaging, Graphic Design/Multi-Media.

Specifications:
All work must be the original artwork of the student artist. No artwork may be removed from either exhibition prior to the end of the exhibition. Sales will be encouraged with 40% of the sale benefitting the department. 2D works need not be framed for jurying but need to be professionally presented (framed or under plexi with L-hooks) if accepted into the museum show. If there are any special installation requirements please deliver the instructions when you enter the work. The use of organic materials that might deteriorate during the exhibi­tion needs to be approved in advance of entering the work. Sorry, wet paintings cannot be accepted. By enter­ing works in these exhibitions, you are agreeing to these guidelines. The department also reserves the right to reproduce your entry in the exhibition catalog, on the website, or in other publicity materials.

Entries:
Four entries per student, not limited to one category. Each entry must have a label securely attached to it, and the entry form needs to be completely filled out. We must have an insurance value even if the work is not for sale. Please ensure that your artwork is protected.
