GREAT SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES & TWO STUDENT ART COMPETITIONS
Wes Stitt Communications and Marketing/Penland School of Crafts has contacted participant-universities from our Partners Program with the hope that you will consider some internship opportunities coming up this summer.
They are briefly detailed below; complete job descriptions and additional information are available on their website...
The Benefit Auction Intern will be a key member of our development staff and will have a high level position in our Annual Benefit Auction planning.
The Development Intern will work in our development office, assisting with the annual donor appeal program and other special events and research.
The Community Collaboration/Development Intern will work for both our community collaborations and development offices, supporting community collaboration initiatives, programs, and activities and assisting the Development Associate for Grants with research and grants management.
There are two Teaching Artist Intern positions available, one in Fall 2011 and one in Spring 2012. The interns will learn about materials preparation, classroom setup and maintenance, teaching assistance, and administrative support for a community education initiative.
The Gardening Intern will be an important member of the facilities and grounds team, assisting our gardener, doing hands-on work while learning about our vegetable and herb garden as well as various perennial flower beds across campus.
These internships would be appropriate for students interested in arts, education, and arts management who are self-motivated, goal-oriented, self-confident, mature and attentive to detail. See individual job descriptions for specific qualifications.
All housing and meals will be provided for the duration of the internship period. Studio access will not be available due to summer class schedules, however there are many social events and educational slide shows available most evenings.
Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can send you any further information. Applications should be received by February 28, 2011, per the instructions given in the internship descriptions.
Many thanks! Wes StittCommunications and MarketingPenland School of Crafts
