IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

QUIZ 3: The first vocabulary list for you to complete definitions for if you are choosing to opt out of taking the pop quiz 3 (Ch. 3.4.5.7.16.18) is posted on Blackboard now under course documents/study guides for ART109 and is also attached to the email you're receiving from me as I post this on the blog. The second list will be posted and emailed to you this weekend. Note: You may write your definitions and concept explanations as bulleted items or short phrases--full sentences are not required.

ATTENDANCE: attendance has dropped off this week, and though I understand it was Spirit Day, I want to make sure people are keeping up with work and learning. Missing class between now and Nov 1 when we begin the Illustrator Critiques is forgivable as long as you check in with me via email to let me know what you're working on and how tutorials, assignments, and practice are going for you.AND ALWAYS CHECK THE BLOG!! Any announcements to assignment changes I make in class will be put on the blog vs. Blackboard (I am only using Blackboard to upload course documents and assignment handouts, quizzes, and grades.) Checking what you've missed on the blog and/or asking your classmates is YOUR responsibility. I don't respond to emails that ask me what you've missed. I do respond to appropriate questions about anything you're working on however.

VECTOR ILLUSTRATION (or MECHANOMORPHIC ILLUSTRATION) ASSMT. #5: I have placed some artwork in the drop box on server #8 (my course folder/apple icon) of sample vector illustrations that show the kind of "depth" the vector assignment asks you for or, if you're entering the UM art competition, some-idea inspiring work from other artists. IF YOU HAVE CHOSEN TO DO THE VECTOR ILLUSTRATION the instructions regarding "black and white" on the original handout should be ignored. What I mean by that is that your illustration must use vector paths and must be convertible to grayscale. Color is appropriate and desired!!

If you have questions regarding any of this. please ask me in class or post your questions here (on the blog) so that other students may hear/see and benefit from the responses. Also, let me know if you're not receiving emails as items are posted to the blog.

Thanks!
Dr. Hanger
